Memorial bench installed

Members of the Firelands Rails to Trails, Inc. installed a memorial bench June 9 which was anonymously donated in the name of Donald Karnehm.

Karnehm had lived in Monroeville since 1957 and died in October 2006. He was a supporter of the rails to trails movement. He volunteered his time to mow the section of trail between the Monroeville Knights of Columbus parking lot and the Wheeling and Lake Erie railroad.

Also present at the installation were members of his family and George Landon, a woodworker and Monroeville resident who constructed the bench for the family.
