Three killed in crash

Two children and their mother die after the car they were riding in ran a stop sign. A third child sustained critical injuries.

Two children and their mother were killed when the car they were riding in ran a stop sign in Seneca County's Hopewell Township.

Terry Bryant Jr., 27, of West Tiffin Street, Fostoria, was driving a 2001 Lincoln LS west on TR 112 at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday when he ran the stop sign at the County Road 7 intersection and struck the passenger side door of a 1998 Dodge Durango driven by Kristopher Stafford, 28, of TR 57, Fostoria, said troopers with the Fremont post of the state Highway Patrol. Both vehicles traveled off the south side of the roadway and overturned several times.

Stafford was wearing a seat belt and was flown by LifeFlight helicopter to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.

Terry Bryant, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported to Fostoria Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

There were four other passengers in Bryant's car, and three of them died, troopers said.

Bethany Garner, 25, of West Tiffin Street, Fostoria, was the front right passenger. She was not wearing a safety belt and was ejected from the vehicle and pronounce dead at the scene by the Seneca County coroner.

Skyler Bryant, 7, of West Tiffin Street, Fostoria, was the middle rear passenger. Skyler was wearing a safety belt and was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner.

Arianna Bryant, 5, of West Tiffin Street, Fostoria, was the right rear passenger. Arianna was ejected from the vehicle and flown to Mercy St. Vincent with critical injuries.

Angel Bryant, 4, of West Tiffin Street, Fostoria, was the left rear passenger. Angel was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner.

Fremont troopers were assisted at the scene by OSHP crash reconstruction, the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and Bascom Fire and EMS, as well as by LifeFlight and the coroner.

The crash remains under investigation and no charges have been issued, troopers said.
