Patrol charges 3 drivers with DUI

One motorist tested at more than three times the legal limit.

Troopers with the state Highway Patrol charged three motorists with driving under the influence (DUI) this weekend.

Fran M. George, 70, of 861 Lakeview Drive, Willard, was stopped by Trooper Thomas Halko at 7:47 p.m. Friday. She was warned about a brake lights violation during the traffic stop at the intersection of Ohio 99 and Townline Road 12 near Willard.

George's blood alcohol content (BAC) level tested at .143 percent during a breath test, Halko reported. The legal limit for drivers in Ohio is .08 percent.

Elizabeth A. Munoz, 23, of Fremont, was stopped by Sgt. Brian Gockstetter at 2:35 a.m. Saturday. She was charged with DUI and speeding (43 mph in a 35 mph zone) during the Milan Avenue traffic stop south of Republic Street in Norwalk. Gockstetter reported Munoz's BAC was .182 during a breath test.

Randy R. Null, 40, of Oberlin, was stopped at 7:42 a.m. Saturday by Trooper Shawn Whiley at the intersection of Woodlawn Avenue and Old State Road in Norwalk. He was charged with DUI, going left of center and a seatbelt violation. Whiley reported Null's BAC was .267 during a breath test; Null has one prior DUI.
