Police look for stabbing suspect

Authorities searched for a suspect early Sunday morning who fled the scene in connection with a stabbing complaint at Charlie's Bar. Norwalk police officers requested assistance from the Huron County Sheriff's Office at 1:24 a.m. Deputy Randy Chase responded to the Benedict Avenue business one minute later and as of 1:38, was checking the area with police and state troopers. Chase was dispatched to another complaint 30 minutes later.

Authorities searched for a suspect early Sunday morning who fled the scene in connection with a stabbing complaint at Charlie's Bar.

Norwalk police officers requested assistance from the Huron County Sheriff's Office at 1:24 a.m. Deputy Randy Chase responded to the Benedict Avenue business one minute later and as of 1:38, was checking the area with police and state troopers. Chase was dispatched to another complaint 30 minutes later.

Lt. Jim Bryan, Norwalk post commander of the state Highway Patrol, said troopers get calls requesting help in searching for suspects "almost daily."

"We kept an eye out for a suspect or vehicle," added Bryan, who had no further information.

Norwalk Assistant Law Director T. Douglas Clifford said police called him this weekend to notify him that the suspect was still at large. He hadn't a received a report as of this morning.

There was no report available to the media this morning. Chief Kevin Cashen wasn't available for comment.
