Work continues on Phase III of the East Main Street improvement project. The city has just announced how parking will be affected due to the project.

North side: Beginning Thursday and going through Tuesday, there will be no parking from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on East Main Street from Oakwood Drive to Vandercook Street for the construction of new curbs and driveway approaches.

Driveways will be inaccessible on these days also. During this time, it is suggested for the residents on the north side of the road to utilize neighbors’ driveways on the south side of the street if nearby off-street parking is needed.

South side: The south side (even numbered houses) of Main Street will not have work performed in that area until after Thanksgiving.

Work is slated to happen on the south side of Main Street just after Thanksgiving. At this point, parking will be permitted on the north side of the street.

Driveways will be inaccessible on the south side beginning approximately Nov. 26, through Dec. 6,  as it will take two days to excavate and prep, two days to pour concrete and seven days for the concrete to cure. There are a few driveways and curbing on the south side at the west end that will not be affected at all by this work. During this time, it is suggested for the residents on the south side of the road to utilize neighbors’ driveways on the north side of the street if nearby off-street parking is needed.

The schedule is subject to change, depending on the weather.
