Suspect grabs cop's crotch

A Norwalk man is accused of grabbing an officer's genitals while resisting arrest during a Newton Street incident Tuesday night. Audias Morales, 26, of 520 Milan Ave., Lot 3, reportedly ran from Norwalk Police Officer Justin Smith about 9:15 p.m., began resisting arrest and grabbed Smith in the crotch, Norwalk Assistant Law Director Doug Clifford said.

A Norwalk man is accused of grabbing an officer's genitals while resisting arrest during a Newton Street incident Tuesday night.

Audias Morales, 26, of 520 Milan Ave., Lot 3, reportedly ran from Norwalk Police Officer Justin Smith about 9:15 p.m., began resisting arrest and grabbed Smith in the crotch, Norwalk Assistant Law Director Doug Clifford said.

"You don't get to hit a cop and get away with it," Clifford added.

Morales was charged with assaulting a police officer, a fourth-degree felony. If convicted, he faces six to 18 months in prison and maximum fine of $5,000.
