Sgt. Jason Demuth had his hands full after two occupants in a fleeing vehicle wouldn't comply with his orders.

The driver, Ronald A. Bischoff, 53, of 5015 Sherman Norwich Road, Willard, and his passenger, Rady D. Davis, 55, of 2270 Ohio 99, Willard, are out on bond. They were released from the Huron County Jail after posting bond Saturday.

About 8:40 p.m. Demuth, of the state Highway Patrol, was at the Spring Street stoplight at the Ohio 99 intersection in Willard. The assistant Norwalk post commander saw Bischoff going northbound as Demuth turned north onto Ohio 99.

As Demuth followed the vehicle, he said Bischoff went off the right side of the road. When the driver went past Townline Road 12, Bischoff went left of center "better than half of his car width," Demuth said.

The trooper activated his lights and sirens at that point.

Bischoff, who continued going north on Ohio 99, went left of center again. He then went right onto Egypt Road and pulled into Davis' driveway.

"He went off the left side of the road when he made his turn," Demuth said.

Bischoff went through the driveway and went into a grassy area before turning and stopping in the driveway.

"That's when he stopped," Demuth said.

The trooper said he then attempted to get Bischoff out of the car, but the driver wouldn't comply.

"(Davis) ran out of the car ... and was ordering his dog to attack. That's when I activated my Taser and Tased him," Demuth said.

One of the prongs hit Davis' cigarettes, he said, so the Taser didn't affect him.

"He went back into his house. ... (Before that) he made threats to get his shotgun," the trooper said.

After Davis went into his house, Huron County Sheriff's Deputy Scott Plew arrived for back-up.

Bischoff was taken into custody without further incident. However, Demuth said he and Plew had to take Davis to the ground.

Davis was charged with resisting arrest, obstruction of official business and disorderly conduct (intoxication).

"An aggravated menacing charge will be pending. That will be a felony," Demuth said.

Bischoff was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), fleeing and eluding, a seatbelt violation and a marked lanes violation.

"He refused a breath test. That was his first DUI," Demuth said.

The pursuit covered about 1 mile. Demuth said Bischoff maintained a speed of 45-50 mph, but didn't stop.

Ain't that the truth. Did i miss the stoplight at 99 and Spring street also? That is right you were really sitting in the graveyard waiting for people to leave the legion after the toys for tots that was thrown by MTD. Along with the state troopers sitting at kindernest also.

I know these guys and they truly are just good old boys not meaning any harm. Its too bad when good people get caught up with the law and the law rakes them over the coals and lets bad people go every day! I would bet these 2 does not have a record, that says something! I wish you 2 luck, and I hope you get a good lawyer!

i agree proud mother of 3...the law is good for raking people and families over the coals.norwalk pd especially they did it to me literally after i lost nearly everything and was burnt in a house fire.
really tired of injustices by our local governments over stepping their bounds with dirty tactics.
i appreciate safe roads...but come on!!entrapmentment!!?!!
shamefull!!
stick to the bigger criminals!!!
God knows we are infested with them and heroin.
i'm glad no one was injured.

lets tell the truth

just two good old men out having a good old time!!! i know them both... think highly of bishoff he has always been good to me!!! Goodluck guys!!!

"Old Men" ?  I take offense at that -- 53 and 55 are not old. lol

i wont debate the merits of d.u.i. (or lack of merit..) but when cops find a couple good old boys havin too much fun, take charge, get them off the road, but dont take a couple drunk old boys so seriously. attack dog? funny! probably an old hunting dog. i wish this was on cops, i would love to see it go down. if you cant run with the big dogs, stay on the porch.. good luck guys!

proud mother of 3

The attack dog was a little house dog, hahahaha! I have to admit, my hubby and I laughed when we seen this in paper! I would have liked to have seen it to, just for a laugh!

onegirlarmy

lmbo...thats funny!!! cops purposly dramatize everything in an entrapment...uuuh!

"As Demuth followed the vehicle, he said Bischoff went off the right side of the road. When the driver went past Townline Road 12, Bischoff went left of center "better than half of his car width," Demuth said.

So...when was this not dangerous for oncoming traffic??

Then "(Davis) ran out of the car ... and was ordering his dog to attack.
AND then "He went back into his house. ... (Before that) he made threats to get his shotgun," the trooper said.

My additions to the article, "All oncoming traffic made it home safely". (Especially mother of 3 if you and yours had been on that road?)
And "Trooper Demuth made it home safe and sound to his family tonight."

... -Scarey comment-: "just two good old men out having a good old time!!! i know them both... think highly of bishoff he has always been good to me!!! Goodluck guys!!

I bet Trooper Demuth didn't know at 8:40 P.M. they were "just good old boys never meaning no harm.."

I am certain it didnt go down as bad as Norwalk Refector reports, these men are not criminals, they are old men with no criminal record! If they were as bad as some of you saints think, wouldnt they have records by now?
I never said they werent guilty, just dont believe they deserve the law and definitely people who dont know them to rake them over the coals. Why is that comment so scary, because someone on here chooses not to judge everyone so negatively. Because Bishoff got into trouble once in his long life he now does not deserve respect for what good he has done? I hope they get a good lawyer, and Huron Cty will lose!

so they got caught and everyone went home and lived happily ever after.. i dont know these guys but hey, somebody had to stir the pot. all the same i still wish them luck.

csnighthawk

Oh my gosh mikeylikesit.
What does, "i dont know these guys but hey, somebody had to stir the pot"
mean?

csnighthawk

mikeylikesit, Gosh, still waiting.
Was one minute between my last post @ 9:52 & your 9:53 post, "so they got caught and everyone went home and lived happily ever after.. i dont know these guys but hey, somebody had to stir the pot. all the same i still wish them luck".

mikeylikesit

somebody had to get all you people bickering. it was the only reason i posted.

now, time to sit back, relax & get some springer style entertainment. jerry! jerry! jerry!!!

Wow. Some of you amaze me. You complain when your "good old boys" get caught, but if they had killed a family member of yours, you'd be yelling the loudest to crucify them. And yes, not every bad guy gets caught. Maybe if the law enforcement officers didn't have to deal with the idiot drunks in this county so often, they would have time to catch some "real criminals". Thank you Sgt. Demuth and Deputy Plew for the job you do every day.

csnighthawk

cannotwait, Thumbs up.

csnighthawk

The Ohio State Patrol deserves my respect. They are there for our safety.
I know that since I am now 61 years old. The last speeding ticket I received
was about 20 years ago when I was still "in a hurry".
Safety first. It's OK.

Amen!

Yall Make Me Sick

I agree with you 1000% cause if one of the good o boys had killed or injured one of these people who are commenting family they would say fry them throw the book at them they killed my family blah blah blah but since it didn't happen they are wishing them luck & say if you knew them they are good guys with good hearts. The driver was drunk & driving so what makes them any better then someone who shot up heroin!? They didn't kill nobody either just hurt themselves. So don't praise one and scorn the other. Hypocrite.

jack langhals

When you start mentioning shot gun,I agree with you.I said the word in an e-mail and the BG police were on the phone !
