Roasts & Toasts

Toast: Marine Cpl. Todd Corbin, who was recently meet the president and was honored for his heroic actions in Iraq. We have said it before and will say it again, Corbin's deeds demonstrated amazing strength and courage. We are proud of Corbin and wish him well as he prepares to embark on even more military training. Roast: all Web sites that contain spyware and other dangerous programs. A new study finds searches related to music and technology are the most likely to return sites with the "malicious code," and another 42 percent of searches for screensaves being flagged by a virus detection program. Just another reminder to trend carefully in the vast, lawless cyberspace we call the Internet.

Toast: the city of Norwalk for finding a way to make money on its recycling program. While many other cities across the country are eliminating or reducing their recycling programs because of the expense, Norwalk is actually making $25,000 through its program.

Roast:  the huge amount of press coverage being given to Paris Hilton's stay in a Los Angeles jail. Hilton is famous for being famous, but by continuing to obsess over the Paris Hiltons and Lindsay Lohans of the world, we end up celebrating their outrageous behavior.
