David L. Vieth, 57, of Aniwa, Wis., was charged with failure to control Tuesday after he went off the right side of U.S. 250 and hit a ditch and two utility poles before his tractor-trailer overturned onto its right side. He was not transported for minor injuries.

The following people hit deer Friday: Gregory P. Starkey, 52, of 6 W. Second St., North Fairfield, on Ohio 162; and Dale L. Wilson, 29, of 3424 Ohio 60, Wakeman, on U.S. 224.

Justin J. Jump, 20, of Wellington, was charged with failure to control Friday after he went off the left side of Crandall Road and hit a culvert and mailbox.

No citation was immediately issued Friday after the collision between the motorcycle driven by Michael J. Finch, 34, of 2626 Boehler Road, Monroeville, and the four-wheeler driven by Austin A. Bledson, 8, of 111 Flatrock Road, Bellevue, on Sandhill Road. Finch attempted to pass Bledson while heading southeast when Bledson swerved left and hit the front center of Finch's bike. The two drivers reported minor injuries, but weren't transported.

Jordan L. Osborne, 17, of 3559 Walnut Road, Willard, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Friday after hitting the rear of the slowed vehicle driven by Penny D. Clay, 33, of 115 Washington St., Willard, who was preparing to stop on Ohio 103. Osborne's passenger, Allison M. Hall, 15, of Sullivan, was not transported for minor injuries.

Jennifer E. Szelepski, 28, of Fremont, hit a deer Saturday on Bull Head Road.

Amber M. Lynch, 21, of 309 Dale St., Willard, was charged with failure to control Saturday after she dropped off the right side of Section Line Road 30, came back, overcorrected and went off the right side, hitting a utility pole. Her compact car overturned several times before stopping on its top in a field. North Central EMS transported Lynch and her passenger, Joseph J. Blackburn, 21, of 3076 Hanville Corners Road, Monroeville, to The Bellevue Hospital with minor injuries. No patient information was available.

Scott A. Cumberledge, 17, of 1555 Rome Greenwich Road, Greenwich, was charged with failure to control Sunday after he lost control on the wet surface of Chenango Road, went off the left side and hit a ditch, tree and utility pole before stopping in a field.

NORWALK POLICE

The Willard Police Department arrested Brian J. Maynard, 25, of 55 Milan Ave., on a domestic violence charge Friday and determined he was wanted on two local warrants. He was charged with failure to pay fines and costs. Maynard currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

An area motorist reported someone removed her radio from the dashboard of her vehicle, rifled through her glove compartment and scratched the driver's side door Friday while her Volkswagen was parked at the St. Mary's Street bus garage.

An area resident reported finding a red Next bicycle abandoned in the front yard of a Fruen Street address Friday.

An employee of an Akron Road business reported someone tampered with a coin machine Friday.

A West Chestnut Street resident reported her son did not return home from school Friday.

An East Main Street resident brought her son and daughter to the police station Saturday after they were caught being out after curfew. Police forwarded a report to the Huron County Prosecutor's office and Huron County Juvenile Court.

An area motorist reported someone stole his passport from his vehicle while parked at a Westwind Drive business Saturday.

A Corwin Street resident reported someone poured motor oil over his driver's seat and console area Saturday.

Shawn M. Ward, 31, whose address was unavailable, was charged with driving with a suspended license in connection with a Chatham Street traffic stop Saturday and released. Police had the license plates placed into evidence and had the vehicle towed.

Leslie A. Williamson, 28, whose address was unavailable, was charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a Whittlesey Avenue business incident. He was held in the city jail until sober.

Jesse Reising, 19, whose address was unavailable, was charged with driving under the influence in connection with a Benedict Avenue traffic stop Sunday. His blood alcohol content level tested at .09. His two passengers, Chase M. Burden, and Tyson A. Demore, both 19, whose addresses were unavailable, were charged with underage consumption and released to a sober person at the scene.

Responded to a North West Street argument Sunday. Someone turned over a makeshift, aluminum foil smoking pipe for destruction during the investigation.

John A. Parsons Jr., 25, of Striker, was arrested on three local warrants Sunday at the Williams County Jail. He was charged with failing to report to jail April 25 and now is serving a 10-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

Michael A. Brown, 42, of 6404 Hill Road, Berlin Heights, was arrested on two local contempt of court warrants Sunday. He is serving a 10-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

A North Main Street, North Fairfield, resident reported a suspicious vehicle Friday.

The Willard Police Department arrested Donald I. Slone, 41, of 2015 Skinner Road, Plymouth, on a warrant Friday and charged him with failure to appear for a trial on criminal damaging. He is serving a five-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

A Hartland Center Road, Collins, resident reported a barking dog complaint Friday.

The Willard Police Department requested assistance with a firearms complaint Friday on Washington Street, Willard.

A U.S. 20, Wakeman, resident reported telephone harassment Friday.

A U.S. 20, Collins, resident requested assistance with a sick raccoon Friday.

Andrew Hicks, 23, of 224 W. Maple St., Willard, was arrested on a Huron County Common Pleas Court warrant Friday and charged with failure to appear at the Huron County Probation Department and for substance abuse treatment court. He currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

An area resident reported the theft of a credit card at an East U.S. 20 business Friday.

A Fichville River Road, Wakeman, resident reported being threatened Friday.

NORWALK FIRE

Administered oxygen and took the vital signs of a possible heart attack patient at 11:09 a.m. Friday at 66 Norwood Ave. until North Central EMS arrived and assumed patient care. Firefighters helped load the person into an ambulance. Returned to station at 11:28.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 2:51 p.m. Saturday at 230 Whittlesey Ave. Returned to station at 3:10.

Responded to 64 E. League St. to assist North Central EMS with a choking child at 10:04 a.m. Sunday. The parents had the undisclosed object out upon arrival. Returned to station at 10:05.
