Oil tank being drained

The county is in the process of pumping almost 4,000 gallons of heating oil from a tank found last week under the courthouse. The 8,000 gallon tank is 18 foot long, 8 foot in diameter and is buried less than four feet under the courthouse, said Pete Welch, the county's building and ground supervisor. It was discovered during a renovation project designed to make the building more energy efficient.
