A Norwalk man turned himself into the Huron County Jail Thursday after a judge issued a warrant for his arrest on suspicion of committing a felonious assault.

William R. Reid, 56, of 24 W. Chestnut St., is accused of striking a man numerous in the head with a pool cue during a billiards game at Bluto's Cafe on Oct. 1.

Norwalk Police Department Capt. Eric Hipp said Reid and the victim were on opposite teams and the two had a disagreement before Reid allegedly struck him. Hipp said the man, who was not hospitalized, required multiple stitches.

Hipp said after Reid turned himself in, he appeared at Norwalk Municipal Court, where a preliminary hearing was set for 1:30 p.m. Nov. 8. Bond was set at $20,000, which Reid posted Thursday and he was released.
