Ask Ann what she means when she says the President is not a "grown up". That can be interpreted in a couple different ways

Cliff Cannon

@ deertracker: Having already decided to vote for Contango for President. I must confess,I missed Mrs. Romney's statement

Here's hoping she meant that the child with all his innocent optimism who truly belives he change the world, is still alive in her husband. For that type of non "grown up" is what we call; "a natural leader". Isn't it?

jack langhals

Cliff,I know you will get a laugh out of this.I received an email to attend a party Tues. nite and replied I would not be able to attend because I would be sitting on my porch with a shot gun.Well, they called the police and I had to assure them it was not a threat.I asked,is it against the law to sit on my porch with a shotgun to protect my property and was informed as long as I was not threatening any one directly,no.I asked them are you prepared, for any event Tues.nite and they assured me they were.By the way, this was not our Police Dept.

Cliff Cannon

@ Mr. Langhals : Your right.Got a good laugh at your expense. That is,until I re-read this part: " I asked them are you prepared, for any event Tues. nite and they assured me they were"

Sounds like a 3rd. world nation where every election results in death's and destruction. Not the United States of America,we knew.

jack langhals

Yea,your right. The town was Bowling Green and I suppose College response isn't always self controlled !

Contango

Good for her! Great opportunity for a budding politico.

Cliff Cannon

At Contango: Got to agree. Obviously, everytime a gifted young leader from either party steps forward to make their mark. We as one, can look to the future with increased confidence. Exciting, isn't it ?

Contango

@ Cliff Cannon:

The "politico" was a pejorative. Less govt., more private enterprise.

Norwalkian Damsel

She only supports Romney because they're best friends and play instruments together... first chair.

Swamp Fox

deertracker, what did Bill Clinton mean four years ago when was quoted to say to Teddy Kennedy about Obama "A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee.” No problem interpreting that....

jack langhals

That shows you what kind of forces are behind these people, to bring down the Clinton's.Willy is hanging on to his coat tails because he wants some more furniture out of THE White House.

all fact or all...

Would you ask her what her husbands where he stands on Roe vs Wade, The Lilly Leadbetter Bill, Fema, Medicare,Planned Parenthood sence he can't or won't answer them. And by the way why did he buy $5000.00 worth od canned goods to hand out to people attending his rally so they could give it back to him. Oh must have been a photo opp.

Dr. Information

I believe that Mitt has made his positions on many of those things. He is pro life except in the cases of rape and incest or if the mother is in danger of losing her life. Planned Parenthood he plans to make cuts in because they provide 27% of America's abortions under tax funded dollars. Its against the law to do so, but they have ignored this time and time again. Medicare he plans to overhaul for those 55 and younger. If you don't think there needs to be Medicare reform then you are out of touch with reality. And hats off to Mitt even if his motivation was political. At least he did something for the people of Sandy.....what has Obama done privately? The answer....nothing.

kURTje

Or ask her why Colin Powell speaks with disdain about Bush & others...very enlightening. (Read Colin's book)

all fact or all...

Excellent reading...But then how quickly people are to forget why we are where we are today..2 wars with no funding..Obama stuck with previous garbage. had Bush 8 years to chalk up debt and Obama's suspossed to fix it in 4...

jack langhals

There is much Intel surfacing that those WMD's did exist and were moved to Pakistan.I am not saying that justified any war.In my lifetime there was only one just war, and that was WW2.

rogerthat

Hey, Jack, you finally wrote something I agree with. Lots of countries have WMD's but we leave them alone.

Contango

@ rogerthat:

Lots of traffic between Iraq and Syria leading up to the U.S. led invasion. It'll be interesting to see what's stamped on Syria's WMD.

Also: Did you never read that WMD components were found in Iraq????

Too bad all those stupid Dems voted for the Iraq Resolution eh? Don't they always claim to be smarter than that? Just ask 'em.

rogerthat

I'm sure you could find WMD components in most countries.
Yes, stupid Dems for believing the Bush administration. Couldn't agree more.

Contango

@ rogerthat:

The Dems had access to the same intel as the pres. - guess that they were co-conspirators in addition to being stupid.

Contango

@ jack langhals:

Some historians write that if Pres. Wilson woulda kept his nose outa the Great War, that another European land war might not have occurred.

Cliff Cannon

@ Contango: What "we" ( the people)don't grasp nor understand about " THE WAR" of modern times: W.W.1

Contango

@ Cliff Cannon:

At the time, Mr. Keynes condemned the Versailles Treaty, predicting that it was sowing the economic seeds for the potential of another conflict.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The...

Cliff Cannon

@ Contango: As we have written so many times, the impact of W.W.1 is so far reaching, that it seems to blind people to it's importance.Personally,I rank it with the " Battle of Tours" for it's epic proportions

Almost forgot: I am mad at you.Last week, you gave me the clue of our work history matching up some.Which,of course, made me think about who you might really be.

Naturally,I started at the top of some of the really cool people I worked with. Geussing you are Fred Stanford aka " Fritz the clown". Then I reasoned, that you didn't admit you are him, when I geussed,as well as realized Freddie wouldn't have a computer in his room at the nursing home. So your not him, right?. Too bad,he is one of the kindest, gentlest men I ever met

Good weekend to you

Contango

@ Cliff Cannon:

And you just ruined my morning!!! :)

While "researching" my reply to you about historical implications of past events, I just had a myth blown. Darn it!

"When Chinese premier Zhou Enlai famously said it was “too early” to assess the implications of the French revolution, he was referring to turmoil in France in 1968 and not — as is commonly thought — to the more distant political upheaval of 1789."

http://mediamythalert.wordpress....

Never-the-less, I still believe that his statement as originally misunderstood bears some deep insight.

No, I ain't "Freddy."

I only worked at FF for a couple of months. I doubt very much that you'd remember me.

Contango

@ all fact or all...:

Know your History:

LBJ didn't pay for Vietnam, but raided the SS trust fund and offloaded Fannie Mae to help pay for it. We're still paying for that war started on a BIG LIE.

If Pres. Bush was so powerful to single handedly produce the financial crisis, then obviously Pres. Obama is too incompetent to fix it and must rely on Fed Chair Bernanke to print money to keep our economy on life support.

Cliff Cannon

@ Contango: "know your history" Sure brings clarity( studing history) to one's thought's,doesn't it ?

Dr. Information

@all fact......So the Bush economy was overall Bad.....and Obama's economy is......good????? I think if you did a little research you would find that Bush had more good years than bad. Was he perfect.....uhhh, name one president that was. So Im just trying to get this straight. Our country is like a small business that is in trouble. You hire a new manager (Obama) because the old manager stepped down (Bush). The new manager says, we are in trouble financially and need to do things to get this company back on track (free up debt, make the country more efficient, and hire more workers to boost production)......Instead he doubles your company's debt, lays off even more people and keeps going to various banks to borrow more andy borrow more....and he tells you he is doing a good job, that there is progress and that he deserves a raise (the equivalent to 4 more years in office). Does that even make sense.

Lets hold Obama to his own word. He said in 08, that if he didn't make progress, then he should be voted out. His words...not mine. Lets hold him and every president from here on out to that. They promise change and don't come through...........they get the boot. Pretty simple in my book but the left like yourself will never change. Its more of a pride thing that anything.

all fact or all...

Yes it was, he put us in debt with 2 wars that he had no way to pay for and Obama inherited Bush's debt. Bush's approval rating when he left office was 25%...Lowest ever for a President. Obama has moved forward, it has been slow, Yes! Oh and Romney's idea of small business is millionairs. Not mom and pop stores. He thinks middle class is people who make between 200,000.00 and 500,000.00 a year. I don't, do you?
This is his lack of understanding middle class people. Oh and remember his business experience is buying up businesses and closing them down selling them for a huge profit to Chine..Is that his goal for the US? Sorry but I have a hard time trusting a Presidential candidate that has off shore accounts to avoind paying taxes to the country that let him make that kind of money. This is all my opinon, you can have yours. It is slow but it is moving forward. We know where he stands on womens rights, Medicare, and the middle class.

Contango

@ all fact or all...:

Off-shore accounts? If Mr. Romney did NOT pay income taxes on the them, the IRS would be all over him.

Don't you think that it is kinda strange that the rich are getting richer under Mr. Obama.

Al Gore is now worth and estimated $100M. How did he do it? He invested in many of those same cos. that received stimulus funds for "green" energy projects.

We "inherited" the debt and Mr. Obama has only added to it.

No country in the history of the world has EVER spent itself to prosperity and the U.S. will not be the first.

If you think that will work: Get out your credit cards and charge your way to wealth.
