A garage fire destroyed the building and two trucks in rural Greenwich.

The homeowner, Clell Fuller, of 4580 Ninevah Road, was in the garage when the fire started the afternoon of Oct. 20.

Eighteen firefighters with the Tri-Community Joint Fire District responded. Chief David Seidel said the garage was fully engulfed upon arrival and did extensive damage, including the 2005 Ford Escape and 2002 GMC pickup truck being housed there.

"He (Fuller) was working on one of the vehicles. I don't know what started it," Seidel said. "He was in the garage. ... Nobody was injured."

Firefighters pumped water from a pond across the street to fight the blaze.

A 12-member crew returned to the scene about early Sunday for a rekindle. Dispatchers with the Huron County Sheriff's Office received a 9-1-1 call from a female caller at 2:24 a.m.

The Fullers declined to be interviewed.
