A Norwalk drug dealer will remain behind bars until he has knee surgery.

Thomas L. Senich, 56, of 3 Lee Ave., was in Huron County Common Pleas Judge Court for his sentencing hearing Thursday.

Court administrator Linda Stower said the defendant will remain in the Huron County Jail he is furloughed for his Jan. 7 knee surgery. Once Senich's doctor clears him, he will return to jail and then go to community-based corrections facility (CBCF). Defendants spend four to six months in a CBCF, a form of prison which focuses on substance abuse treatment and education.

Senich pleaded guilty last month to trafficking in hydrocodone. The Norwalk Police Department investigated the Feb. 23 incident.

"He gets prescribed the medication for his knee, which is what the surgery is for," defense attorney T. Douglas Clifford said, referring to hydrocodone. "He will remain in local incarceration until his surgery in early January."

Once Senich has surgery on his knee, Clifford said his client's doctors have indicated Senich shouldn't need the drug anymore.

As part of his three years of probation, Senich was fined $1,500 and must reimburse police $80 to cover the cost of drug testing. He also had his driver's license suspended for six months.

If he needed it, why was he selling it??

LONG time looser...this is only a SMALL portion of what he is into, prob. why he pleaded guilty...better to plead guilty and NOT let them look into other things preparing for a trial...

Brock Lee

Paranoid Illusion

The only thing better than a smiling drug dealer is a dead drug dealer. Just sayin....
