New cheerleading adviser will receive help, respect from parents

I am writing this letter regarding Tuesday's article concerning the hiring of the new Monroeville cheerleader adviser.

I made several statements to the reporter that were my opinion, and not on behalf of the Monroeville Cheer Parents, I was not acting as spokesperson for the parents.

I stated that I hoped that the school board takes mine and some of the other cheer parents concerns into consideration while they met in executive session. Yes, I was disappointed in the decision not to table the hiring of a new cheerleading advisor until next month, as we requested in our letter.

The decision has been made and I respect that, we are all adults and it is not a bad idea to debate an issue. End of story.

I fully intend to do whatever it takes to make this young lady feel welcome and help her in any way that she needs as our new cheerleading advisor.
