The case of a man accused of sexually assaulting a mentally-challenged Norwalk teen could be resolved with a guilty plea Friday morning.
John L. McBride Jr., 29, of Springfield, is charged with sexual battery in connection with a July 16 incident at a Norwalk mobile home. Huron County Sheriff's Detective Bill Duncan investigated the case.
McBride is accused of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old Norwalk girl with mental disabilities at her mobile home while he was visiting his girlfriend in the city. Deputies have said McBride reportedly entered the victim's home through her bedroom window, held her down and had sex with her. McBride is believed to have left through the same window.
"He confessed to having sexual intercourse with (the victim). ... He also admitted to knowing she has (a) limited mental capacity," Capt. Ted Patrick said soon after McBride was arrested at his girlfriend's house.
After a lengthy meeting behind closed doors with Huron County Prosecutor Russell Leffler and public defender David Longo, Huron County Common Pleas Judge Jim Conway announced the attorneys are working on a "possible resolution."

How can he plead it down when he ADMITTED to doing it? I agree Swiss this is what is wrong with the country. We always tell people to own up and admit what they did, this guy ADMITTED it and they still found a way to mess it up!
