A Bellevue man pleaded guilty Monday to an amended safecracking charge.
Allan D. Andrews, 29, 717 E. Main St., will be sentenced Nov. 27 for attempted safecracking. The fifth-degree felony is punishable by six to 12 months behind bars and a maximum fine of $2,500. Since Andrews has a prior felony conviction, he could be sentenced to prison.
Between Oct. 10, 2011 through Feb. 10, Andrews obtained a key to his parents' safe and removed some unspecified items, Huron County Prosecutor Russell Leffler said. "He used that key to get into the safe to support his drug habit," he told Huron County Common Pleas Judge Jim Conway.
