Bowersox to release debut album this year

Crystal Bowersox, this year's "American Idol" runner-up, has signed a record deal with 19 Recordings/Jive Records for what E! Online is describing as "her bluesy folk rockin' debut album" to be released later this year. "I'm really grateful to be given this opportunity to make an album and let people hear my music and I'm looking forward to working with all of the folks at 19/Jive," the former Oak Harbor High School student told E! Online.

Bowersox, 24, is gearing up for the "American Idol" tour, which starts the first of its 49 dates July 1 in Detroit.
