Emergency medical and firefighters were called to a Peru West Sectionline Road residence Saturday for a minor farm accident.
Huron River Joint Fire District Chief Tom Beck said once his crews arrived, North Central EMS personnel had already loaded the resident.
"The resident had been caught in an auger, but the farm hands had already gotten him free," Beck said. "He had suffered a deep laceration to his lower leg that would probably require sutures."

It's a busy time of year, and I know the rush is on to get crops in, but take a minute and make certain the equipment is safe, or the position you are about to put yourself is safe. You are no good to your business or your family if you are injured or dead. Stay safe out there.
