Miss Flame contest Oct. 16

The Willard Fire Department will host the 51st annual Miss Flame contest on Oct. 16 in conjunction with National Fire Prevention Week.

Miss Flame represents the fire department at several parades and other fire prevention events throughout the year. The winner of the Miss Flame contest will receive a $200 savings bond, and the first runner-up will receive a $100 savings bond. The winner will also have the opportunity to compete in the 2013 Northwest Ohio Firefighters Queen contest.

The contest will be at the fire department at 6 p.m. Oct. 16 and is open to the public. Each contestant will have a private interview with three judges prior to the ceremony. During the fire prevention week ceremony, each contestant will answer a random question in front of the audience. Miss Flame 2012 will be crowned at the conclusion of the ceremony.
