The Sandusky Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated a single vehicle injury crash that occurred on Kelley Road, south of Mason Road. The crash occurred at 7:57 p.m. Friday.
Charles W. Reed Jr., 62, of Sandusky was driving a 2005 Harley Davidson Electra Glide motorcycle. Reed was traveling northbound on Kelley Road, when he struck a deer that entered the roadway. Reed was ejected from his motorcycle and suffered serious injuries at the time of the crash. Reed was not wearing a helmet. Reed was transported by LifeFlight to St. Vincent’s Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.
On Tuesday, Reed succumbed to his injuries and died.
Assisting Agencies were the Milan Township Fire Department, Huron Fire Department and EMS and the Erie County Sheriff’s Department.

Do you really think a helmet would have saved him? I doubt it! gotta watch it riding right now with the crops coming off early and deer have fewer places to hide.
You said it! This is a tragic reminder the deer are going nuts right now, running all over the place. Everyone needs to be careful on the roads especially at dusk and dawn.
