Area road closings, delays announced

The Ohio Department of Transportation has released its weekly construction report for Huron County and the surrounding areas.

Here is the ODOT District 3 weekly construction report for the week of Oct. 1:

ASHLAND COUNTY
State Route 60
SR-60, between US Route 250 and the Huron County line, is restricted to one lane of two-way traffic as part of a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in late September, 2012.

Interstate 71
I-71, from just south of the Richland County line to US Route 250 (between mile markers 178 to 186),  has intermittent daytime lane closures as part of a micro resurfacing project. While the majority of work on this project is expected to take place between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., motorists can expect delays as traffic will also be restricted intermittently during daytime hours. The project is expected to be complete at the end of October, 2012.

US Route 250
US 250, at its bridge over the Vermilion River (between TR-448 and CR-500) in Ruggles Township, is reduced to one lane of two-way traffic as part of a bridge replacement project. Traffic will be maintained at all times with a temporary traffic signal. The project is expected to be complete in early November, 2012.

US Route 250
US 250, between County Road 1575 and Township Road 653 in Montgomery Township, is reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction. Traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction with narrowed lane widths. Access to businesses will also be maintained; however, motorists should be prepared for delays throughout construction of this project. The project is expected to be complete in mid-December, 2012.

CRAWFORD COUNTY
State Route 19
SR-19, from the Morrow County line to the City of Galion, is reduced to one lane of two-way traffic as part of a micro resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete by October 6, 2012.

State Route 61
SR-61, from the Morrow County line to the City of Galion, is reduced to one lane of two-way traffic as part of a micro resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete by October 6, 2012.

ERIE COUNTY
US Route 6
US 6, just east of State Route 13 in the City of Huron, is reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction for bridge repair work. The project is expected to be complete in October 2012.

HURON COUNTY
State Route 13
SR-13, at both the north and south approaches of its intersection with US Route 224 in Greenwich Township, is closed as part of a bridge replacement and intersection improvement project. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR-13 to US Route 250, south east on US 250 to US 224, west on US 224 to State Route 61, south on SR-61 to State Route 603, south east on SR-603 to SR-13, and reverse. The road is expected to reopen in early November, 2012.

LORAIN COUNTY
State Route 10
SR-10, between US Route 20 and Interstate 480, is restricted to one lane of traffic in each direction as part of a micro resurfacing project. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction. The project is expected to be complete in mid-October, 2012.

State Route 58
SR-58, between the village of Wellington to just south of Hamilton Road, is restricted to one lane of two-way traffic as part of a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete by November 17, 2012.

Interstate 90
I-90, at its twin bridge structures over the Black River and Ford Road, is reduced to two narrowed 11’ lane widths of traffic in each direction for bridge deck replacements. The restrictions will remain in place through November 2013. 

Interstate 90 - ***UPDATE***
I-90, at its Nagel Road overpass (between State Route 83 and Crocker Road), has narrowed lane widths for work as part of the new interchange construction project. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained at all times during the daytime hours. The project is expected to be complete in September 2013.

Nagel Road
Nagel Road, over Interstate 90 (between Chester Road and Avon Road), is closed as part of the new interchange construction project. Detour is posted. The road is expected to reopen in September 2013.

Beginning Tuesday, October 2 at 6:00 a.m. and continuing each day through 4:00 p.m. Thursday, October 4, I-90 eastbound will be restricted to two lanes of traffic for bridge painting work. Motorists should expect delays these days.

MEDINA COUNTY
Interstate 71 - ***UPDATE***
I-71, between the Cuyahoga County line (mile marker 228) and just south of State Route 18 (mile marker 217), will have intermittent lane closures for pavement repairs nightly. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained at all times throughout the daytime hours; however, one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction during the night, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The project is expected to be complete by October 5, 2012.

Interstate 76
I-76 eastbound, from just west of State Route 94 to the Summit County line, is reduced to one lane of traffic for a reconstruction project. Motorists are advised to use caution in this area and watch for slower moving traffic as it merges in to the open (right, driving) lane. The project will be complete in September 2013.

SR-94 Ramp to I-76 East
The entrance ramp to I-76 eastbound from State Route 94 in the city of Wadsworth is closed through mid-November, 2012. There are two detours for this area:
Cars/Light Trucks – SR-94 to State Route 261, east on SR-261 to I-76 east; and
Commercial Vehicles/Heavy Trucks – SR-94 to I-76 west, I-76 west to SR-57 south, to I-76 east.

I-76 East Ramp to SR-261
The Interstate 76 eastbound exit ramp to State Route 261 (Akron Road) is closed. The detour route for eastbound motorists is I-76 to State Route 21, north on SR-21 to SR-261. The ramp is expected to reopen on October 8.

US Route 224
US 224, at its overlap with Rivers Corners Road (between State Route 301 and US Route 42), is closed as part of a CSX railroad bridge replacement project. The detour route for westbound motorists is US 224 to US 42, south on US 42 to State Route 89, north on SR-89 to State Route 58, north on SR-58 to US 224, and reverse for eastbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen in December, 2012. 

RICHLAND COUNTY
State Route 13
SR-13 (Main Street), between State Route 39 (5th Street) and Timmerman Road in the City of Mansfield, is restricted to one lane of two-way traffic for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be in mid-October, 2012. 

Interstate 71
I-71, between mile markers 171 and 178, has intermittent nighttime lane closures as part of a spot patching pavement repair project.  One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Motorists should expect delays during this work. The project is expected to be complete by October 6, 2012.

Interstate 71 (Morrow County)
I-71 southbound, from just south of the Morrow/Richland County line to State Route 95 (between mile markers 158 and 150), is reduced to two narrowed lanes of traffic for the reconstruction and widening project. Two lanes will be maintained at all times in the southbound direction. The project is expected to be complete October 2013.

WAYNE COUNTY
State Route 3
SR-3, between State Route 226 and the Ashland/Holmes County line, is restricted to one lane of two-way traffic as part of a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete at the end of October, 2012.

US Route 30
US 30, between South Elyria Road and the City of Wooster, is restricted to one lane of traffic in each direction as part of a smooth seal pavement project. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction through mid-November, 2012.

State Route 57 - ***UPDATE***
SR-57, between the City of Orrville and U.S. Route 30, has intermittent lane closures for finalization work as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in mid-October, 2012.

Interstate 71
I-71, between the Ashland County line and the Medina County line, has intermittent nighttime lane closures as part of a spot patching pavement repair project.  One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Motorists should expect delays during this work. The work is expected to be complete by October 12, 2012.
 

State Route 585
SR-585, at its intersection with Gates Street in the Village of Doylestown, is restricted as part of an intersection improvement project. SR-585 north and southbound traffic will be prohibited from making left-turn on to Gates Street. The project is expected to be complete in mid-November 2012.
