A Willard man accused of sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl had his case transferred to Huron County Common Pleas Court for a possible grand jury indictment.

Ronald D. Ruff, 34, of 2560 Niver Road, waived his right to have a prosecutor present evidence in his case Friday. As a condition of his $15,000 bond which he posted Monday, Ruff is prohibited from having any association or communication with the victim. He is charged with gross sexual imposition, which is punishable by one to five years in prison, in connection with an Aug. 8 incident.

Ruff was arrested Sept. 21 in Willard after reportedly having absconded to Michigan. On July 19, he was discharged from a Michigan prison after serving 17 years for an armed robbery and a felony firearm violation in Wayne County.
