The hustle and bustle of summer vacations in Roscoe Village has come to an end and we are all anticipating the change of the seasons. The beautiful gardens are losing their brilliance while the trees are just beginning to change to beautiful colors for the fall season.

The annual Apple Butter Stirrin’ Festival held the third weekend of October lets you step back in time in this quaint little village to attend one of the finest fall festivals in Central Ohio. Roscoe Village is an 1800s restored canal town where you are sure to enjoy Living History Tours complete with costumed interpreters, a serene ride on the Monticello III Horse-Drawn Canal Boat ride pulled by a team of horses along a restored section of the Ohio Erie Canal and a nationally accredited museum where you will find four permanent rooms of gathered treasures. The charming shops and fine restaurants of Roscoe Village are sure to satisfy your shopping and dining wishes.

The first Apple Butter Stirrin’ Festival was held 43 years ago and continues to delight children of all ages. The crisp mornings when crafters and artisans open their tents to share their wares with the thousands of guests that attend each year and the aroma of fresh apple butter as you stroll the Village is only the beginning of what this well-liked event is about.

Musical entertainment performed by bluegrass, country and gospel artists add to the festivities to make the sights and sounds of this family-fun event that will bring you back year after year. Educational demonstrations shared each of the three days offer children an opportunity to learn trades or hobbies they may not have ever heard about or seen. A children’s activity area keeps the young ones busy with activities of the 1800s along with some great photo opportunities.
