EHOVE students place first at racing nationals

EHOVE Career Center students earned enough points to take first place among more than 100 high schools at the May 6 AC Delco High School Nationals, held at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk. This is the fifth time EHOVE has earned first place at the contest, winning the team racing competition with "the most decisive victory in the history of High School Nationals."

EHOVE Career Center students earned enough points to take first place among more than 100 high schools at the May 6 AC Delco High School Nationals, held at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk.

This is the fifth time EHOVE has earned first place at the contest, winning the team racing competition with "the most decisive victory in the history of High School Nationals."

Making it to the sixth round and the final six cars was diesel student Jordan Fannin, of New London. Making it to the fifth round was Stephen Hahn of Western Reserve, Tiffany Gardner of Bellevue and Jeff Wilber of New London.

Diesel student Cameron Glawe, of New London, won first place in the "Ugliest Working Wreck" category and team EHOVE won for the "Best Appearing Team" category.

EHOVE had a large contingent of students, about 150, from several programs represented at the races. The school has competed in the races since 1989 and has won first place four times. In total, about 700 cars were entered in competition for the day-long event.
