State Rep. Terry Boose (R-Norwalk Township) said Wednesday he remembers what it's like to be a county commissioner.

Boose served in that role in Huron County from 1997 to 2004.

He added he knows cuts at the state level have trickled down to the local municipalities and created hardships.

On Saturday, the Reflector published a story about Boose's side of the current and future cuts in local government funds that are hammering locals.

@ TOPGUN01:

Too many "worthy" causes and not enough money.

Fight Diabetes? And you wont vote for him because he didn't vote for a program that just cannot be funded anymore? Wow....I've read it all now.

"Diabetes"?

70% of health problems in the U.S. are caused by 3 things:

Obesity

Lack of exercise

Smoking

All of the above are next-to-impossible to "fix" with tax dollars. (Though the vote seeking pandering politicians try.)

The vast majority of people need to learn to take more responsibilty for their own lives and health.

^Exactly my point. You cant fix stupid with some people though. Its a blame everyone else mentality we have out there.....or in this case....throw money at it and it will fix itself. Diabetes for the most part is caused by lack of care for ones self.

Armcorn, you're right when you say 'you can't fix stupid.' But let's try anyway. Your comment "Diabetes for the most part is caused by lack of care for ones self" for instance. You make me want to bang my head against the wall. http://www.diabetes.org/diabetes...
