A rural Milan woman is accused of embezzling more than $100,000 from a Lorain doctor.

A Lorain County grand jury indicted Kay Wilzcak, 34, on theft in connection with incidents from Jan. 1, 2004 through Jan. 1 of this year. The victim contacted the Lorain Police Department after determining the money was missing.

Lorain County Prosecutor Dennis Will has said in local reports that Wilzcak is accused of taking money from accounts from which she paid the doctor's office bills. It's unknown if the suspect is still employed there.

Wilzcak was released April 23, the same day as her arrest, from the Lorain County Jail after posting a $25,000 bond, a jail spokeswoman said.

The suspect's telephone had been disconnected or was not in service Friday and she couldn't be reached for comment.

The Milan resident is scheduled to appear for a Monday pretrial hearing at Lorain County Common Pleas Court. No trial date has been scheduled.

If convicted, Wilzcak faces one to five years in prison and a maximum fine of $10,000.
