Gary E. Erwin, 55, of Mansfield, hit a deer Wednesday on Greenfield Section Line Road.

Vickie L. Morey, 48, of 38 Broad St., Milan, hit a deer Thursday on Ohio 18.

Michael C. Mahaffey, 62, of Chimney Rock, Colo., was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Friday after he hit the rear of the vehicle driven by Kevin W. Thompson, 39, of 5580 U.S. 20, Wakeman, who had slowed to turn right into a U.S. 20 private driveway. The collision pushed Thompson's car off the right side of the road into a ditch.

Lisa D. Wendt, 47, of 4071 Everingin Road, Monroeville, hit and killed a dog Saturday on Townline Road 32.

NORWALK FIRE

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 12:02 p.m. Friday at 196 Main St. Returned to station at 12:25.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 2:14 p.m. Friday at 200 Bluegrass Drive. Returned to station at 2:45.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 11:54 p.m. Friday at 22 Welton Ave. Returned to station at 12:10 a.m.

Responded to 21 Sycamore Drive at 8:16 a.m. Saturday to assist North Central EMS, but firefighters were not needed. Returned to station at 8:26.

Responded to a grill propane tank leaking at 3:16 p.m. Saturday at 340 Westwind Drive. Firefighters weren't able to stop the leak, so they had the tank transported back to where the person had it filled. Returned to station at 3:30.

Responded to an injury accident and assisted North Central EMS with patient care at 11:17 p.m. Saturday at 843 New State Road. Returned to station at 11:59.

Forcibly entered the front door of 26 Spring St. to assist North Central EMS with gaining entry into a locked apartment at 9:54 a.m. Sunday. Returned to station at 10:05.

Responded to a transformer and breaker failure at 12:15 p.m. Sunday at 301 W. Main St. The on-scene crew extinguished a small brush fire that resulted and firefighters remained there until Ohio Edison arrived. Returned to station at 1:20.

Responded to an open burning complaint at 3:38 p.m. Sunday at 66 Washington St., where there was a campfire in a burning pit. Firefighters requested the fire burn out and the person make smaller campfires in the future. Returned to station at 3:55.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 8:26 p.m. Sunday at 16 Baneberry Lane Returned to station at 8:43.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 5:12 a.m. today at 70 E. Chestnut St. Returned to station at 5:24.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 5:39 a.m. today at 17 E. Washington St. Returned to station at 5:55.

NORWALK POLICE

Adrian Beltran-Rosas, 19, of Fourth Street, Bellevue, was arrested and charged with underage consumption/possession in connection with a Whittlesey Avenue business incident Saturday. He was released after posting bond.

Ruben Avila, 19, of 103 Jefferson St., Lot 25, was charged with underage consumption/possession in connection with a Whittlesey Avenue business incident Saturday and released.

Arrested a 15-year-old North West Street boy in connection with a Whittlesey Avenue business shoplifting incident and was released to his parents Saturday.

Amy S. McCoy, 23, of 2168 Ridge Road, North Fairfield, was arrested on a warrant Saturday and charged with failure to pay restitution on a passing bad check conviction. She is serving a 10-day sentence in the Huron County Jail.

Justin S. Means, 27, of Mansfield, was arrested on a warrant Sunday and charged with failure to report to jail on a driving under the influence conviction. He is serving a three-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

Candace M. Wilson, 20, of 37C Gallup Ave., was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and underage consumption Sunday.

Bryan J. Maxwell, 20, of 175 Concord Court, was arrested on six warrants Sunday and charged with contempt of court during a Pleasant Street traffic stop. He currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

Found an abandoned silver Schwinn bicycle Sunday at Whitney Field.

David L. Fligor, 20, of 56 1/2 Milan Ave., and David C. Jones, 20, of 6879 Townline Road, Wakeman, each were charged with underage consumption in connection with an incident Sunday near Water Street. Fligor was cited and released. Jones was held in the city jail until sober.

Bo A. Bogard, 21, of 56 1/2 N. Pleasant St., was charged with underage consumption in connection with an incident Sunday near Water Street. He also was arrested on a warrant and charged with a probation violation.

Charged two 17-year-old Norwalk boys with curfew violations Sunday and released them to their parents.

Justin L. Haas, 24, of 8 Seminary St., Greenwich, was charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a Whittlesey Avenue business incident Sunday and released.

SHERIFF'S OFFICE

A North Old State Road resident reported someone entered two vehicles in an unlocked garage and stole some change Friday.

A West River Road, Wakeman, resident reported someone cut the spark plug wires on her lawnmower Friday, saying that vandalism is an ongoing problem. A complainant at the same address later reported a relative refused to leave.

Joseph T. Stewart, 19, of Sandusky, was arrested on a warrant Friday and charged with failure to appear. He is serving a 30-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

A U.S. 224, Greenwich, resident reported domestic violence Friday.

An Ohio 61, Plymouth, resident reported a domestic dispute Friday.

A Tomahawk Drive resident reported four-wheelers were disturbing the peace Friday.

The New London Police Department requested a deputy check for a missing juvenile Saturday on U.S. 224, Greenwich.

Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call an accident and fight Saturday at South Central High School.

An Ohio 60, Wakeman, resident reported a neighbor's barking dog was disturbing the peace Saturday.

An En Road resident reported an unspecified theft from a vehicle Saturday.

A Cleveland Road resident reported the suspected theft of her credit card numbers Saturday.

An area resident reported someone lost or dumped a large pile of trash Saturday on Peru Center Road, Willard.

An Ohio 162, Willard, resident reported the theft of garden equipment Saturday.

The Erie County Sheriff's Office reported having Michael P. Robinson, 35, of 641 U.S. 224, Willard, in custody on local warrants. He was charged with non-support of dependents.

A Greenwich Angling Road, Greenwich, resident reported someone took several unspecified items from her vehicle and put them in her yard and dog kennel Saturday.

An Ohio 13, Greenwich, resident reported her nephew was being unruly Saturday.

Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call about an Ohio 162, New London, domestic dispute Saturday.

A Townline Road 12, Greenwich, resident reported someone broke into two of his vehicles and stole cigarettes and various other items Saturday.

An area motorist at an Ohio 18 business accused someone of throwing a tire iron through the back window of his vehicle Saturday.

A Plymouth East Road, Greenwich, resident reported a suspicious vehicle Sunday.

Joe Hardy, 47, of 671 Rome Greenwich Road, New London, was arrested on a warrant Sunday and charged with failure to report to jail. He is serving a 10-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call about a suspicious vehicle Sunday on U.S. 224, Willard.

A North Ohio 61, New Haven, resident reported the theft of a yellow Suzuki mini dirt bike from the back porch Sunday. It was last seen April 15.

A Townline Road 12, Willard, resident reported someone shattered the right back cargo door of her locked truck Sunday.

An area motorist reported a cow in the road Sunday near Zenobia Road. The owner later retrieved it.

Assisted the Willard Police Department with an out-of-control patient Sunday at Mercy Hospital of Willard.

Dispatched the Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department and a deputy to a brush fire Sunday on West Peru Olena Road.

A Townline Road 151 resident reported motorists were driving around bridge repair signs through their yard to access the golf course Sunday. A deputy contacted a Norwalk Township trustee and the Huron County Highway Department.

The Norwalk Police Department accused the driver of a red Chevrolet truck drove away from a Benedict Avenue business without paying for $40 worth of gasoline Sunday.

A West Peru Olena Road resident reported the theft of tools Sunday.

A Pleasant Street, Willard, resident accused someone of taking a half a tank of gasoline from her vehicle Sunday.
