A jury on Friday convicted Bellevue resident Clifford Beach of all three counts of aggravated murder, murder and gross abuse of a corpse.
The charges were in connection with bludgeoning his wife to death last summer and also attempting to dismember her body.
Aggravated murder means the defendant used prior calculation and design before committing the act.
Jurors had to decide whether Beach intended to kill, Linda.
Sentencing is set for 8:45 a.m. March 22.
Huron County Prosecutor Russell Leffler said he was fairly confident the jury would return at least a murder conviction. He said he feels justice was served.
Defense attorney Reese Wineman said he’s disappointed. However, he felt he used the only possible strategy he could under the circumstances — attacking the element of purpose.
