Scout earns award

Laura Kniffin, a senior at Norwalk High School, has earned her Gold Award through Girl Scouts of Erie Shores. Her Gold Award Project ("W.I.T.H. Word In Their Hands") was to collect donated Bibles containing personal letters of encouragement to send to Hurricane Katrina survivors in Metairie, La. Laura collected 667 Bibles from area churches and 156 letters from school classes, church groups, and Brownie troops. These were taken to Louisiana in March by a mission team from the Chapel, in Sandusky, and distributed to families in devastated areas.

Laura is the daughter of Brian and Betsy Kniffin of Norwalk.
