Local man charged in theft of jewelry

A Norwalk man accused of stealing jewelry estimated to be valued at $60,000, some coins and Vicodin has been charged. Russell Korth, 49, of 16A Ontario St., was charged with receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony, in connection with an Oct. 27, 2005 incident.

A Norwalk man accused of stealing jewelry estimated to be valued at $60,000, some coins and Vicodin has been charged.

Russell Korth, 49, of 16A Ontario St., was charged with receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony, in connection with an Oct. 27, 2005 incident.

"So it was a significant theft," Norwalk Law Director Jim Conway said.

In an unrelated case, Samantha Self, 30, of Mansfield, was charged with theft, a fifth-degree felony, in connection with a March 16 incident in which she is accused of stealing about $800 from a Harkness Street apartment, Conway said.
