Mahl touts SCORE to New London
NEW LONDON - Retired businessman Ted Mahl recently told members of the New London Community Improvement Corp. about SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives).
Mahl said SCORE, a nation-wide organization, is made up of retired business people who volunteer their time to counsel individuals wishing to start a business or who need help with an existing business.
SCORE's services are free and open to anyone, and Mahl said the Norwalk office has seven volunteers available for one-on-one consultations on such matters as writing a business plan, setting up a budget and other matters.
Mahl added SCORE presents seminars and is working on plans to offer classes to high school students and also to help coordinate a small loan program for entrepreneurs who are having trouble getting funded.
Anyone interested in making an appointment with a SCORE volunteer can contact Mahl locally or call the Norwalk office (185 Shady Lane Drive, Entrance D) at 419-668-4867 (ext. 3446).
