'A Musical Matinee' set for March 25 in Norwalk

An upcoming production by the Parma Symphony Orchestra and the Towne & Country Singers will feature works from the classics to Broadway showtunes.

"A Musical Matinee" is scheduled for 3 p.m. March 25 at the Ernsthausen Performing Arts Center at Norwalk High School.

Act One includes an Overture to the Opera "Nabucco" by Guiseppe Verdi, "Le Cid Ballet Suite" by Jules Massenet and others.

Act II will include selections from "The Sound of Music," "Oklahoma," "Carousel" and other Broadway shows.

Performers will include Carol Phillips, soprano; Chuck McKenna, Baritone; Susan Laycock, soprano and David Scagnetti, tenor.

Dr. Randolph P. Laycock, a Norwalk native and Olmsted Falls resident, directs the Parma Symphony Orchestra.

Tickets are $12 in advance or at the door. Sponsors include V.I.P. seating, a program listing and a partial Income Tax Deduction and are: $35 for two tickets and $65 for four tickets.

Backstage Pass sponsorships include all of the above as well as a "Finger Food Buffet" pass to celebrate with Dr. Laycock and the performers after the concert backstage and costs $50 for two and $90 for four.
