An Ohio State football recruit, Leroux won the shot put with a toss of 56-feet-2.5 inches, advancing him to the Amherst regional on Wednesday.
The top four finishers in each event advance to the regional.
Also for Norwalk, distance runner Kyler Kromer was second in the 3200-meter run in 9:51.42, while teammate Robert Vazquez was fourth (9:58.32).
For the Norwalk girls, Madison Shutt was third in the 100 dash in 12.88 seconds to advance.
Other notable finishes on Friday included Tche Leroux placing fifth in the 200 (23.32), while the 4x100 relay of Caleb Robinson, Mason Hughes, Ian Scheid and Jake Sommers was also fifth (44.06).
Mitchell Sommers was sixth in the 800 (2:00.38), which is where the Truckers also finished in the team standings with 53 points.
Also for the Norwalk girls, the 4x100 relay was sixth. The team of Paige Maurer, Marly Geretz, Masci Horner and Shutt finished in 52.26.
Edison advances six athletes
OAK HARBOR — At the Div. II Oak Harbor district the Edison boys and girls track teams each advanced three individuals during Friday’s finals.
O the boys side, Daniel Lambert was second in the 1600 (4:27.28), while Dylan O’Dell in the high jump (6-feet-4) and Tyler Coon in the 3200 (9:35.08) each placed fourth to move on to next week’s Lexington regional.
For the Edison girls, Abby Lesniak was second in the 3200 (11:21.59), Isabel Chasney was third in the 1600 (5:23.98) and Aliyah Caporini was fourth in the 300 hurdles (47.26).
The Edison boys finished fifth in the team standings with 54 points.
Also from the area, Willard’s Joey Holida was second in the high jump (6-feet-6). Trenton Rupert was fourth in the 400 dash (52.21) and Josh Holida was fourth in the discus throw (158-feet-4).
Bellevue’s Payton Vogel in the shot put (36-feet-7.5) and Sydney Waskielis in the 300 hurdles (47.21) each placed third. Lindsey Spurlock was fourth in the 3200 (12:01.94).

CLYDE — The Redmen topped their SBC rivals to win a Div. II sectional championship on Friday.
For Bellevue (15-7), Dalton Hay singled and drove in two runs, while Preston Ray also doubled and drove in a run. Hay went 5 1/3 innings for the win, allowing two earned runs on three hits with three strikeouts and three walks.
The Redmen will face Vermilion in a district semifinal at 6 p.m. Thursday at Sports Force Parks.

GIBSONBURG — The Wildcats fell in a Div. III sectional title game to the host Golden Bears on Friday.
With the loss, New London fell to 11-10 overall.

NORWALK — The Truckers closed the season at 8-16 overall and 2-7 in the SBC Lake Division with Friday’s loss to the Blue Streaks.
For Norwalk, Alex Nolan was 3 for 3 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored. Sky Story was 2 for 3 with an RBI, while Emma Kastor singled and drove in three runs.
