Caryl Crane Youth Theatre to hold open auditions

HURON — Caryl Crane Youth Theatre (CCYT) is holding open auditions for the 2018-2019 competition team

The auditions are for actors, singers and dancers ages 10 and older at 6 p.m. April 22 in the McBride Auditorium at BGSU Firelands, 1 University Drive, Huron. The team .

The competition team, which will consist of 32 students, will defend its outstanding production title when returning to the Junior Theatre Festival from Jan. 18 through 21 by presenting “Finian’s Rainbow.”

CCYT will compete with more 125 other youth theaters and school drama teams from around the world in a festival dedicated to showcasing the talents of our best young musical theatre performers. 

After the festival, the show will be presented in its entirety Feb. 1 through 3 in the McBride Auditorium.

In mid-December, the team will rehearse a 15-minute selection of “Finian’s Rainbow” to present during the festival weekend. All actors cast in the  team must participate in the production, performing Feb. 1 through 3.

The Junior Theatre Festival is produced by Itheatrics.com. The weekend festival consists of adjudication from Broadway directors and choreographers, workshops and master classes, new works showcases and much more.

Caryl Crane Youth Theatre serves more than 5,000 youth and families in the community each year through its three core programs: Theatrical training workshops, a Five-Production Theatre Series, and Teen Board Outreach. Supported through public support, you will help inspire, enrich, and empower the imaginations of children and families through live theatre and theatre education
