HURON — Tonight the Huron Playhouse opens its third week of summer theater productions with Tony Award-winning play, “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” by Christopher Durang.

Middle-aged siblings Vanya and Sonia share a home in Bucks County, PA, where they bicker and complain about every little thing in their lives. Suddenly, their movie-star sister, Masha, swoops in with her new boyfriend, Spike. The four prove to be too much for each other, and old rivalries flare up — leading to threats from Masha to sell the house.

Drama abounds in this laugh-out-loud comedy. Benjamin James, previously seen as Larry in “A Chorus Line,” appears as Vanya. Grace Wipfli returns for her second year at the Playhouse as Sonia. Kathleen Carter, previously Cassie in “A Chorus Line,” stars as Masha and Lukas James Miller plays the part of Spike. Lukas also showed up in “A Chorus Line” as Zach.

Also appearing in the play are Sydney Leigh Allen as Nine and Sarah Mullen as Cassandra. Sydney appeared as Kristine and Sarah was Diana in “A Chorus Line.”

Jennifer Wertz returns for her third season to direct the show. She previously directed “Nunsensations: The Nunsense Vegas Review” and “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.” She was also the Artistic Director for the 2014 and 2015 seasons at The Huron Playhouse.

All productions are held at McCormick School, 325 Ohio St., Huron and begin promptly at 8 p.m.

Tickets cost $22 for general admission, $20 for senior citizens and $15 for students. To purchase tickets or obtain more information, call 419-433-4744 or visit www.huronplayhouse.com.
