The Diamonds are represented by three different counties and eight schools, including Bellevue, Edison, Huron, Margaretta, Monroeville, Norwalk, St. Paul, and Willard. The team was formed in 2013 and is coached by Rich Roldan, Pat Scheid, and Laramie Spurlock.
The tournament featured five pool games and four bracket games from teams representing 17 different states. The Diamonds were the No. 4 seed entering bracket play, and beat the top-seeded from West Virginia in semifinals to advance to the championship game.
In the title game, the Diamonds faced a team from Indianapolis. With the score tied at 7-7 in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Diamonds got a pair of base hits to score the winning run for an 8-7 win and the tournament championship trophy.
