Celebrity real estate roundup: Cher, Reese Witherspoon

The Queen of Costume Changes and the master of self-reinvention is transforming again. Into the Queen of London, that is.
Word is that Cher is quitting the West Coast in favor of a cross-continental move to England, just as the 60-something entertainer looks to complete her latest recording effort in the city on the Thames.
What’s the proof of Cher’s big escape?
Her Zen-inspired West Hollywood home that was featured in Architectural Digest in 2010 has been sold for $5.25 million; now her 1.7-acre Malibu compound is said to be available for $41 million and a 3-bedroom townhouse in Venice Beach that Cher owns, but was inhabited by her son Elijah Blue, has hit the market at $1.89 million.
Cher’s London escape, however, won’t come until she has found a new Los Angeles landing pad. After all, what’s Hollywood without Cher, even if she’s only there part time?
Reese Witherspoon’s 1923 estate on Del Norte Road in Ojai, Calif., has taken another price reduction, proving that the delightfully determined mother of three is ready to do what it takes to put this property in the rearview mirror. The 1923 home designed by legendary Los Angeles architect Wallace Neff is now listed for $7.25 million. That comes after a price cut to $8.9 million in November, which is also down from its original list price of $10 million.
His Enthusiasm is Curbed
Larry David’s Pacific Palisades home on Vance Street has hit the market for $14.99 million. Apparently, the frantically self-involved creator and writer of “Seinfeld” no longer needs the “oasis from urban chaos,’’ so he’s parting ways with the property that’s reminiscent of the English countryside, not to mention its 7 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, pool, gym and ocean views. No mention of whether the property comes with swans.
