Wilma Davidson

BERLIN HEIGHTS — Wilma Davidson, 91, of Berlin Heights, surrounded by family, peacefully passed on to her next journey March 9, 2019, at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky.

Wilma was born on December 14, 1927, in Ecru, MS, to the late James and Lora Sneed. After graduating from High school in 1945 she moved to Memphis TN where she met Sammy D. Davidson whom she married on March 27, 1948. They moved to Ohio and lived in Berlin Heights since 1959. They were married for 56 years before her husband passed away in 2004.

Wilma was a woman of strong faith and many talents, always ready to meet and make new friends, She had a smile ready to share with everyone. She often remarked about what a blessed life she had led. She never dreamed she would live so long and do as many things as she had done. She sang in the choir and often sang solos at church. She traveled, owned and operated the Herb and Spice Rack on the square in Milan, OH, sold real estate, and worked as a clerk at the Huron County Law Library for 17 years.

She is survived by her daughter Erin "Gail" (William) Bartle, of Norwalk, son Jimmy K. Davidson, of Kent City, MI, her grandchildren Amos S. Downing, Erin Leah Downing and her companion Dirk Horwedel, Pastor James (Missy), Sammy, Joshua (Katherine), and Marjorie "Maggie" Davidson, great-grandchildren, Amos Wyatt and Simon Downing, Quincy, Tyler, Hailey, and Brayden Davidson, Michael Hatch, and Grace Garwood, nephews Eddie and Van Jackson, and her dearest best friend Emma "Kitty" Smith of Oberlin.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Eunice Jackson and Grady Sneed.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South Street, Berlin Heights. On Thursday there will be visitation from 11:00 am until the time of services at 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Berlin Heights.
