Robert “Bob” Hoyt Sr.

NORWALK — Robert “Bob” Hoyt Sr., age 69, of Norwalk, Sunday, March 10, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born December 20, 1949 in Norwalk to the late Frederick “Fritz” and Norma June (Knapp) Hoyt.

He was a 1968 graduate of Norwalk High School and worked on the Rail Road for 25 years. He also worked at Janesville Products in Norwalk, and owned the Reedtown Tavern a few years.

He enjoyed wood working and building yard art, golfing and swimming outdoors. He was a social member at the American Legion, VFW and Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his loving wife, Norma Hoyt of Norwalk; children, Sandra (Chris) Ruffin of FL and Robert (Cori) Hoyt Jr. of Norwalk; grandchildren, Alex Hoyt of Norwalk, Michael (Tammy) Ruffin of FL, Tyler Ruffin of FL, Derek Ruffin of FL and Camden Hoyt of Norwalk; a brother, Myke (Sandy) Hoyt of Florida; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Thom Hoyt and James Hoyt.

A gathering for family and friends will be held Friday, March 15, 2019 from 1:00 P.M. until time of service at 3:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends, please join the Hoyt family at the Knights of Columbus for a reception afterwards.
