William G. Trembley

NEW LONDON — William G. Trembley, 90, of New London, passed from the life to the next to be united with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 15, 2018. He was born on September 3, 1927 in Norwalk, OH to the late Ivan and Mae (nee Addington) Trembley.

William was a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He and his loving wife Joan (nee Hamer) Trembley shared 67 years together. William was an extremely hard worker and a brilliant man who delighted in acquiring practical knowledge. He instilled in his children the values of faith, family and hard work.

William served his country as part of the United States Navy. He was stationed on the USS Windham Bay (CVE-92) and during WWII was a Motor Machinist Mate.

William was a plant manager for the former E. Bigelow Tile company for more than 28 years.

In addition to his wife Joan, William is also survived by his children, Christine (Ron) Gariss of Idaho, Jim (Marsha) Trembley of Washington, Brad “Neon” (Faith) Trembley of New London; daughter-in-laws, Deb and Kim; 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Randy; sons, Daniel and Tim; sister, Marge and brother, Maurice.

A graveside service will be held at Grove Street Cemetery, New London on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 11 am with Pastors Dan Moore and Brad “Neon” Trembley officiating. Military honors will follow the service.
