Luella "Lou" Lindholm

WILLARD — Luella "Lou" Lindholm, 79, passed away gently in her sleep Saturday following a 15-year battle with Alzheimer's disease.

She was born o July 28, 1938, in Columbus, daughter of the late Rozella Pappademetriou and Robert Armstrong.

Lou and her husband, Norm, moved to Willard from Cheney, Kansas, in 1969 to open the former LK Restaurant on Rt. 224. After six years of substitute teaching in the Willard School District, one of the only art teacher substitutes in the area, she opened Calico Crafts in downtown Willard. In 1993, she took over the "Gallery of Expressions" Hallmark Store, and in 2000 returned to her passion for teaching at the Grace Christian Preschool, 3-year-old class, until she retired in 2004. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Willard Gardners Club. She enjoyed gardening, painting, and travelling all over the world with Norm.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her only brother, Lester Armstrong. She is survived by her husband, Norman; children, Teresa Damiani, of Hinckley, Ohio; Denise Gallion (Erik), of Millersburg, Ohio; Tim Lindholm (Brenda), of Houston, Texas; grandchildren Alex Kimble of Indianapolis, Indiana; Marcy Bowen of Orrville, Ohio; Ethan Lindholm of Houston, Texas; and great granddaughters, Skylar and Alexas of Orrville, Ohio.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Secor Funeral Home in Willard and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church, 108 W. Maple St., Willard, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday.
