Friday, May 25, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at the Laurels of New London. He was born on March 18, 1926 in Millstone, Kentucky, to the late Bud and Josie (Hunt) Blanton.
Bill served in the United States Navy during WWII. He enjoyed working and spent 13 years working in the coal mines of Kentucky.
Rarely sitting idle, Bill loved helping his late wife Geneva in producing their plentiful garden each year and working on lawn mowers and snowplows. He loved hosting company and sharing numerous stories with them.
Survivors include his son, Dennis (Deb) Blanton; daughters, Carolyn Sue (Mike Fry) Hunter, Sheila Ann (Steve) Roper, Valery Jean (Tim) Moffit; son-in-law, Mike Boose; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and sisters, Bobbi Goble and Cressie Case.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death his sons, Michael and Danny Blanton; daughter, Jennifer Boose and grandson, Dennis “Chip” Blanton.
The visitation for Bill will be held at Eastman Funeral Home in New London from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2018. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Donnie Beverly officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Rochester, Ohio.
