William F. Peters

VICKERY — William F. Peters, 94, of Vickery, died unexpectedly at Valleyview Assisted Living in Fremont on November 14, 2017.

Bill was born on April 27, 1923 in Fremont to Frank E. and Bertha M. (Beckman) Peters. He was a lifetime resident of the area. Bill was the Salutatorian of the 1941 graduating class of Townsend High School. He joined the US Navy during WWII.

Mr. Peters was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Vickery; Farm Bureau Council; Sandusky Co. Farm Bureau; a charter member of Townsend Township Volunteer Fire Dept. and a member of Townsend Ruritan.

He was retired from the Whirlpool Corp after 17 years of employment. He was a farmer ALL of his life.

On June 9, 1945 he married Dorothy H. Bouyack , she survives.

Their three children, Edwin Peters of Toledo; Frank (Debra) Peters of Bowling Green; and Kathlyn (Timothy) Bandy of Belleville, Michigan also survive. Five grandchildren, two step grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren, along with his sister, Thelma Munson of Canal Winchester survive as well.

Mr. Peters was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, George Peters and a sister, Betty Burkett.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 4-7:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde. The funeral will be at 10:30 AM, following an hour of visitation, on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Vickery with Rev. Jeanette M. Thorpe officiating. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Clyde VFW and American Legion.
