FITCHVILLE -- Randolph N. Shepherd, 74, of Fitchville, passed away at his home on June 5, 2014. He was born August 14, 1939, in Floyd County, Kentucky, son of the late Ed and Sarah (Patton) Shepherd. Randolph lived in Fitchville for 50 years.
He worked at the former Ohio Body for 10 years. Randolph was a foreman on underground boring crews for Leon Riley Excavating and was an operator that was instrumental in designing boring techniques. He was a member of the IUOE Local 18.
Randolph enjoyed antiques and restoring Victorian lamps.
Survived by his wife of 55 years and the love of his life, Millie; children, Jeff Shepherd of Fitchville, Bill (Angie) Shepherd of Greenwich, Kim (Doug) Risner of Greenwich and Beth (Mike) Oney of Fitchville; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren with 1 on the way and siblings, Ruth Shepherd, Clell Shepherd, Cora Hall, Thomas Shepherd, Patty Newmayer and Sharon Meade. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Morris; brothers, Edward and Lowell Shepherd and an infant sister, Alice Faye Shepherd.
Randolph's family will greet friends Monday, June 9th from 2 p.m. until the 5 p.m. service at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London with Rev. Glenn Phillips officiating.
