Larry "Woody" Wlodarsky, 69, of Berlin Heights, passed away at his residence Wednesday, January 8, 2014 with his family by his side.
He was born Feb. 24, 1944 in Sandusky and was a lifelong resident of Berlin Heights and lived on the family farm for his entire life.
He attended Berlin Heights High School. He and his wife owned and operated K & L Nursery, Berlin Heights and he was a fruit grower for his family business, Wlodarsky Fruit Farm, a 3 generation family business.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Sandusky. He was a member of the Erie County Auxiliary Mounted Sheriff's Posse; the Ohio Six Gun Fast Draw Club and was state champion in 1965 for Fast Draw; a member of the Banshee Fast Draw Club and was in the top 20 for the 1965 Great Lakes Open Worlds Fast Draw Championships and was inducted into the Hall of Fame for Fast Draw.
He worked hard as a fruit grower and his landscaping business. He was an inventor of many things and enjoyed scuba diving, hunting and fishing, bowling, antique cars, racing go-carts and motorcycles, hunting for mushrooms, his time with his family, and camping in the woods. He liked Disney World and Canada as favorite places.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Sharon (Hensley Link) Wlodarsky; daughters, Wendy Wlodarsky of Milan, Dawn James of Newton Falls, OH, and Tiffany Lavine of Berlin Heights; son, Walter Wlodarsky of Berlin Heights; 8 grandchildren, Laurel Cleveland, Mikal Wlodarsky, Andrew Schluchter, Mathew Whitt Lavine, Brock Lavine, Ella Wlodarsky, Karin Wlodarsky, and Taylor Wlodarsky; niece, Kim Maloney; nephews, Eric and Kelly Wlodarsky; and brother, Ed (Diane) Wlodarsky.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Karen Hauritz Wlodarsky; parents, Edward and Berthabelle (Moats-Duchene) Wlodarsky.
The family will receive friends Sunday, January 12, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main Street, Huron.
A Memorial service will be held Monday, January 13, at 6 P.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4511 Galloway Rd, Sandusky with Bishop Perdue officiating.
