Richard E. "Rich" Turner, age 66, of Norwalk, died Tuesday evening, December 10, 2013 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
He was born February 16, 1947 in Columbus, OH and was a graduate of Monroeville High School, where he lettered in All Sports.
He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. After returning from service he worked at the Huron County Highway Department. Then was a concrete finisher for various Norwalk companies. He enjoyed following his children and grandchildren's sports, and was a member of the Norwalk VFW Post 2743 and American Legion Post 41. He enjoyed jig saw puzzles and playing cards.
Survived by his daughters, Michelle (Joel Fries) Turner of Norwalk, Danielle (Tony) Mann of Castalia and Brooke Ann Turner of Norwalk; father, Harry Turner of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren, Morgan, Breck, Gabrielle, Evan and Amira; his former wife with whom he made his home, Sally Turner of Norwalk; siblings, Sue Cochran of Monroeville, Al Turner of Jacksonville, FL and Bren Turner of San Leandro, CA; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna (Snook) Turner.
At his request there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held Monday at 2:00 P.M. at Woodlawn Cemetery with military honors. Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.
