Howard L. Landoll, age 87, of Norwalk, died Thursday, November 21, 2013 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky after a brief illness.
He was born January 16, 1926 in Bedford, OH to the late Aloysius and Laura (Rummel) Landoll. He attended St. Paul High School and was drafted during World War II, serving in the US Navy from 1944 until 1946.
He worked 29 years at the former Clevite and Tennaco in Milan. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and a life member of the Norwalk VFW Post 2743. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening and volunteering at the Veterans Home and was a member of the Catholic War Veterans.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Maryann (Hipp) Landoll, to whom he married November 25, 1950; sons, James (Anita) Landoll of Chatham, VA and Ron Landoll of Norwalk; daughter, Karen (Steve) Lane of Monroeville; grandson, Andrew Landoll; and sister, Marguerite Riley of Norwalk; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Haas; and brother, Harold Landoll.
Friends may call on Monday, November 25, 2013 from 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk with the Rev. Nathan Bockrath, Associate Pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will follow with military honors at St. Paul Cemetery.
