Penelope "Penny" Mesenburg

Penelope "Penny" Mesenburg, age 66, of Middle Bass Island, died unexpectedly on Sunday October 20, 2013 at Elyria Memorial Hospital.

She was born on June 14, 1947 in Cleveland and has lived in the Milan and Berlin Heights area for many years, spending her summers with her husband on Middle Bass Island. She was a 1965 graduate of Avon Lake High School.

She was a homemaker who also worked part time at the museum in Milan. She loved baby-sitting grandchildren, cooking for her family, was a longtime member of the Middle Bass Island Yacht Club, and was an avid reader.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years Bernard "Butch" Mesenburg, her mother Lois (Brandt) Paul, of Middle Bass Island, her three sons, Steven (Lori) Mesenburg, Scott Mesenburg, both of Berlin Heights, and Donald (Amanda) Mesenburg, of Milan, a sister Donna (Tim) Johnson, of Gallup, NM, a brother Jeffrey (Angel) Paul, of Avon, Ohio, eight grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Peter Paul.
