 Eugene F. Hatton, age 87, of Willard, Ohio passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013 at The Willows of Willard, Ohio.

He was born July 31, 1926 in Willard, Ohio to the late Herbert L. and Wilma (Kilper) Hatton.

He was a retired accountant for the United States Steel Railroad and was a WW II Navy veteran who served on the U.S.S. Langley. Gene was an active member of the United Methodist Church and was a volunteer in elementary schools and for Habitat for Humanity. He was a master gardener and enjoyed planting flowers and vegetables.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne (Herion) Hatton, whom he married in 1950 in Willard, Ohio; 2 sons, Dennis Hatton of Pittsburgh, PA and David Hatton of Philadelphia, PA; 3 daughters, Karen (Gordon) Davidson of Centerville, Ohio, Vicki (David) Leeds of Horse Shoe, N.C. and Barbara (Bill) Franke of Farmington, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; sister, Marilyn (Ray) Rodgers of Willard; 2 sister-in-laws, Susan (Bill) Klein of Macedonia, Ohio and Diane (Bob) Richter of Katy, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Wilma Hatton and a sister-in-law, Ruth (Tom) Secor.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio where the funeral service will be Friday, September 20, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Doug Beggs officiating. Burial will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio.
